I wanted to keep this print very simple to 'show off' the Palm House's architecture. Inspired by the number of flights that go over Kew Gardens I added a single plane and wiped the ink off the plate very carefully to create the vapour trail.
The incredible wrought iron architecture of Kew Palm House was realised by Decimus Burton and Richard Turner, who’s understanding of shipbuilding and ‘deck beam’ technology made it possible for the huge expanse of the Palm House to be built with very little internal support.
